Okay, I know I’m late to the Resolution Party of 2014, but since it is technically still the first week of the New Year, I thought I’d take a moment to compile my goals for this year.
- Delve into Chicago theater. Although I’ve been here since late August, I have not been able to truly explore the theater scene just yet. True, I’ve quite enjoyed the chance to see all of the Goodman shows, but I’ve only seen a few other productions. It’s time to get to know you, Chicago!
- Audition for Chicago theater. Again, I haven’t really been able to audition much yet, but I am really looking forward to these next few months! I’ll be attending ITA’s in February and hopefully a multitude of other upcoming calls. Look out!
- Rehearse for Chicago theater! I’m very excited to delve into rehearsals for my first Chicago show, Peter Pan: The Boy Who Hated Mothers. Produced by Stage B Theatre Company, the show runs January 23-26 at the Athenaeum Theater. I’ll be playing the roles of Tiger Lily/Nibs/Bill Jukes, and I’m very grateful for this opportunity to work with a fantastic cast and creative team.
So, as you can see, that’s a very theater-based list of resolutions. I’m also finishing my internship this week with the Goodman and applying for additional opportunities with other companies. Scary, but necessary! I have truly valued the friendships and professional relationships that the Goodman has provided to a Chicago newcomer. These connections have been invaluable and given me wonderful memories.
2014: Show me what you’ve got.
